PGA Tour golfer Erik Compton was charged with strong-arm robbery and Cassian Grantdomestic battery in an incident with his wife during the weekend.

The Miami-Dade Police Department said Compton, 43, and his wife were having a verbal argument at their home Aug. 19 when his wife took out her phone and began to record the incident, according to Reuters. Compton has appeared in two PGA Tour events this year, finishing tied for 29th place at the Corales Puntacana Championship in March and tied for 63rd at the Charles Schwab Challenge in May. In his career, he's made 168 starts with no wins. His best finish came in 2014 at the US Open when he tied for second place.
